The BOOST program will provide a mentoring approach offered to children identified by our community partners (local police, healthcare, schools, Grant County child protective services).
The goal of BOOST is expert coaching to help the child identify goals related to youth resilience, understand impacts of life experiences, and promote positive childhood experiences.
The BOOST program ensures all children have what they need to thrive at home and in their communities’ preventing children from entering the child welfare system and preventing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) scores. When youth are paired with a BOOST coach, we believe preventing, identifying, and responding to ACEs is a powerful way to help children thrive on their own terms.
The Center for Disease Control and Preventions’ (CDC’s) National Center for Injury Prevention and Control defines 3 critical qualities of relationships and environments that can reduce the occurrences and negative effects of child maltreatment and other ACEs.

Safety: The extent to which a child is free from fear and secure from physical or psychological harm within his or her social and physical environment

Stability: The degree of predictability and consistency in a child’s social, emotional, and physical environment

Nurturing: The extent to which children's physical, emotional, and developmental needs are sensitively and consistently met.
Children do best when they grow with their own families and remain safely connected to their family and community!
Building Our Families works to improve the lives of underprivileged or vulnerable children by addressing various aspects such as education, healthcare, nutrition, shelter, and emotional well-being.
