A nonprofit that has been helping foster kids and families for over a decade in Sioux Falls is growing, and that growth has included moving into a larger space and the need for more donations. The Foster Network has a mission to help anybody that’s affected by the foster care system across the region.

The Center for the Prevention of Child Maltreatment’s mission is to stop all maltreatment against South Dakota children in order to foster resilient families.

South Dakota Kids Belong started in 2018, as a pilot of America’s Kids Belong. Our mission is to improve the experiences and outcomes for kids in South Dakota’s foster care system.

Resilient Communities, South Dakota, was created by the Center for the Prevention of Child Maltreatment and its partner organizations to help address factors in communities that put children at risk for abuse and neglect. It also creates an environment that is trauma-informed, so community members understand the effects of experiencing abuse.

Terri Mielitz Consulting partners to train and support all children and families as they face unique challenges and can benefit greatly from the support and guidance of caring individuals like Building Our Families. Terri works by educating families on mental health, to help empower families to support their loved ones in a meaningful way. This can have a significant impact on the mental health and well-being of children in foster care and beyond. Helping children thrive and become the person they were meant to be.

Inspired by God's love, we care for, support and strengthen individuals, families and communities. Vision All people in South Dakota will be healthy, safe and accepted. Values Lutheran Social Services is a social ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. As such, we believe that God’s love compels us to serve and to value all people.
